Progress

I finally got a task done that I have been putting off all summer. I am in charge of the Display Board at my old High School for the Alumni Association. I finally delivered it and posted it today. Yippee!!! It's done till the next time I need to refresh it.
There was time to kill before my Alumni Board Meeting, so I went to a thrift store and found a few treasures. A cool ring holder, an old plate that was made in England. Can't wait to hang it up. And lastly, a coffee table to refinish.

The VHS Alumni Board Meetings are so great to go to. You learn more about what is going on with the school you used to attend. Imagine if we only knew what was going into our education while we were there? We probably would have appreciated it more. I get to live it now from hind sight. Plus the people are so nice that attend as well. They have the kids interest at heart. Go Gondos!!!

Latest Craft

Today was a bit cooler. Thank goodness.
I was feeling a bit crafty again and look what I created. I think I found another favorite thing to do. I think I am going to have fun with this one. Embossing on Copper.
I also made paper roses with my friend Patti out of coffee filters. That was kind of cool. Didn't turn out like it did on the t.v. show, but they still both looked kind of cool. We have to finish them still.

Lazy Day

Well, today is still hot. When is it going to let up?

This is me back when I was a little girl. I loved my dolls too. Funny thing is I have photos of my daughter that look identical to this one. I think I need to scan some to show. We pretty much look like each other now too. Me, just an older version of course.

The next photos are from our trip to Arizona in May. We went to the Botanical Garden in Phoenix and seen the Butterfly Garden too. It was fun. I think we spent more time there than the rest of the park.

Dale, Hans' son and I were taking as many Butterfly photos as we could. We sometimes had to wait till they sat still and landed just right with the right flower so they were show up nicely. It was a blast. It got pretty hot that day, but Deagan weathered it well. He was such a good baby that day. As for the rest of us, we just kept getting our bottles of water and walking slower and slower. We would also stop to take photos of all the many things to see. You sometimes don't realize the beauty around you till you stop and really look. I learned a long time ago that I could take the most fascinating photos in my own back yard. All you need is the eye for it.

A Day at the Movies

Today was extremely hot again. Since neither my husband or I should be in the sun at this time because of some meds we are taking, we went to the movies today and made it a Double Feature of sort. First we seen "Stardust" and loved it. I like the sentiment she said about "A Star can not Shine with a Broken Heart". So true. The second movie we seen was Bourne Ultimatum. Action Packed. I think they left it open for a forth one. I think many others had the same thought about keeping it cool at the theater as well. It was packed!

Well, I sure hope it cools off soon.
This is Deagan, our other Grandson. He belongs to Hans' son Dale. They live in Arizona. We went to visit them last May. Deagan took to me real good. I guess I still got it.
Arizona was nice, dry, and windy. It was a nice visit all around. Hans' son has grown into a real good man. He has made his dad proud.

This Day is Dedicated to Uncle Mike

Uncle Mike will always be with us in thought and in our hearts. He has left his footprints on our memories.

His guidance throughout the years will be with me in everything I do.
Family was very important to him. He desired many things for me to have happen with my family. Just as one of his wishes came through, the most important one, he went to be with the Lord. I know he is smiling now.

Hans & I have shared many dinners, lunches, walks & talks with Uncle Mike and Auntie Odona. He and Hans even had code names for each other on the cell phones. We gave him heck when he was stubborn about his illness (at least Hans did). He finally listened and got better and better this year. So much so that he danced at his daughter Gloria's Wedding June 23rd. What an inspirational day that was. We were so proud of him.
.
Well you know that behind every great man is a great woman. We can not forget her part in all this. My Auntie Odona. She is my Woman of the Year...Wife of the Year. She inspires me to be the best wife I can be.
