Mother & Daughter

I got an e-mail the other night from my daughter asking me to send photos of her as a child in a pageant she was in. She wanted to show her guy she was cute when she was a child. I said "sure you were. You looked just like me." Well, let's see how we looked alike.

This is the one I picked up at an Antique Store in Virginia and paid $14.99 for it.

Madame Alexander Pussycat doll, 20 inch. Marked "ALEXANDER 19©65" on the back of her head, this doll is in excellent condition. Her mama crier has been replaced and is now in working condition. She has some light stains on her cloth body, but no marks or stains on her vinyl head and limbs. Eyes are clear and open and close well. She has been redressed in a new dress with matching panties and hat, trimmed with ric rac and organdy sash and hat ribbons.

My Dad

I had a dream this morning about my dad. I miss him dearly. It has been almost 10 years since he left this world. Or has it? He has been with me in my dreams from time to time, guiding me when needed or giving me words of comfort. This morning the dream seemed like we were at my Grandma's old house and he was kneeling on one knee and his wife Emily was behind him. Neither of them said anything. But their unspoken works gave me such comfort. I went to him and lifted him up with my hand on his heart and we walk out of the room. Then the phone rang and woke me up. I loved him with all my heart. He was first to teach me how to knit and crochet, make a kite out of mom's sheets. He even taught me to fish with bambo sticks. We even recycled old things into new things. He saw I had an interest in Photography and built it up for me. We weren't always close, but that changed when we stopped letting others get in our way. I know he loved me and that is all that matters.

Dad, I have my STAR (Carousel) now. I will think of you always.

What? No Rubber Duckie?

Ok. The News says the Rubber Duckies are a hazard to our babies health now. I heard that in passing. Don't like listening to the news much. So lets focus on something beautiful...

It took us nearly 3 1/2 years to get a flower to bloom on our Plumeria plant. This is the results.

My Husband taught me how to Strip today!

Ok...get your mind out of the gutter! Ha ha ha
I learned how to strip a table. I bought it at a Thrift Store the other day. Loved it for $20. Saw potential and here it is.
